Drua Bring in Six New Signings for 2026 Super Rugby Pacific Campaign

Fijian Drua Sign Six Ahead of 2026 Super Rugby Pacific Season

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua is set to enhance its roster for the upcoming 2026 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season with the addition of six new recruits: Temo Mayanavanua, Iosefo Namoce, Joji Nasova, Angelo Smith, Manasa Mataele, and Issak Fines-Leleiwasa. This infusion of talent is aimed at combining youthful exuberance with the experience necessary to elevate the team’s competitiveness.

Temo Mayanavanua, who recently played with Northampton Saints in England, is expected to bring strong leadership skills to the Drua. Meanwhile, Joji Nasova, a standout in sevens rugby with an impressive scoring record, seeks to adapt and thrive in the 15-a-side format, promising to add exciting dynamics to the team.

Iosefo Namoce, a local player who excelled for Fiji 7s at the Oceania tournament, will take up the centre position after gaining valuable experience during a productive off-season in Canberra. Angelo Smith, formerly with the Melbourne Rebels, adds versatility to the pack, complementing the squad with his background in the Skipper Cup.

Experience will be bolstered by Manasa Mataele, who has almost 60 professional matches under his belt from his time with the Crusaders and Western Force. Additionally, Issak Fines-Leleiwasa, who has featured for both the Western Force and ACT Brumbies, strengthens the team’s options at fly-half.

The Drua squad will include 29 capped players from the FIJI Water Flying Fijians alongside four promising development talents promoted to the main team. This strategic mix aims to secure a competitive advantage as the Drua prepares for an exciting upcoming season.

This recruitment strategy is reminiscent of past successes, emphasizing a focus on local talent and seasoned players. This approach has previously proved fruitful, as noted by returning players like national co-captain Tevita Ikanivere, who highlighted the blend of experienced professionals and emerging talent.

As the Fijian Drua gears up to face challenges in the Super Rugby Pacific, there is a growing sense of optimism surrounding the squad. With the integration of fresh talent alongside seasoned players, fans can look forward to a thrilling rugby season filled with possibilities for personal and team accomplishments. Each new recruit is poised to contribute meaningfully to the rich legacy of Fijian rugby, heralding an exciting future for the Drua.
