Students at Sabeto Sangam School, situated near Nadi, experienced a thrilling visit from Fijian Drua rugby players Inia Tabuavou, Iosefo Namoce, and Kavaia Tagivetaua. This special event allowed young enthusiasts to meet their sports icons face-to-face, having previously seen them featured in advertisements and on local billboards.

The visit was orchestrated through a partnership with Punjas, the players’ sponsors, as part of a campaign to promote their product line. This outreach is part of the Drua team’s larger initiative while gearing up for their forthcoming match against Moana Pasifika in the 2026 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific competition, set to take place this Saturday in Lautoka.

While at the school, the Drua players engaged the students in various rugby drills, including passing, kicking, and line-outs, emphasizing the significance of teamwork. Although they will not be included in the match-day lineup for the upcoming game against Moana Pasifika, their visit undoubtedly inspired and left a positive mark on the aspiring athletes.

This interaction not only fosters enthusiasm for rugby among the children but also nurtures a sense of community and inspiration as they look up to their local heroes. Such engagements highlight the importance of sports in bringing people together and encouraging youth participation in physical activities.
