The Fijian Drua opened its doors to the media and sponsors yesterday during its Media Content Day, shedding light on the club’s unique brand and community engagement. This event provided the Swire Shipping-sponsored men’s team an opportunity to participate in official photoshoots for editorial and commercial purposes, while also generating digital content for various media outlets. This initiative aimed to strengthen the connection between the club and its dedicated fans, whom they consider among the best in the world.

Located near Nadi International Airport, the Drua’s home base was alive with enthusiasm as players interacted with media representatives and sponsors to create vibrant content. This occasion holds special significance as it is one of the few times during the season when the media can freely engage with a wide array of players, given that regular season schedules limit such opportunities.

Shane Hussein, the general manager of commercial operations for the Fijian Drua, emphasized the importance of this event. He stated, “The Fijian Drua is a commercial entity. We can’t survive without the support and sponsorship of our partners, and this is a great day for us to give back to them.” He expressed excitement about the upcoming season and how engaging with sponsors and the media aligns with their commercial objectives.

The event saw participation from both new additions to the main squad as well as 12 development players, all of whom were eager to partake in media and marketing engagements. The day concluded with a performance by vocalist Liz Vamarasi, who entertained attendees with her popular songs, including “Rawai” and “Vakadua,” featuring Fijian rapper JU BEN.

Looking ahead, the Fijian Drua is preparing for a pre-season trial match against the Chiefs in New Zealand at the end of this month, building anticipation for the upcoming season. This positive step reinforces the club’s commitment to strengthening its community ties and creating a lasting impact in the rugby landscape.
