The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua has introduced an exciting new initiative for its supporters with the launch of the Drua Matavuvale Membership, aimed at fans based in New Zealand. This exclusive membership offers a unique chance for supporters to deepen their connection with the club as the 2026 Shop N Save Super Supermarket Rugby Pacific season approaches.
Kicking off with a trial match against the Chiefs at Mount Maunganui this Friday, the Drua Matavuvale Membership will initially be rolled out in New Zealand. Limited to only 100 members and priced at NZ$100 each, this premium membership aims to provide a culturally rich and personalized experience, solidifying the club’s bond with its international fanbase.
Shane Hussein, General Manager for Commercial at Fijian Drua, emphasized the importance of this initiative, highlighting the passion and loyalty of Drua supporters across the Tasman Sea. He stated, “We know that the Drua have one of the most passionate fanbases in the world, and our supporters in New Zealand are a massive part of that energy. ‘Matavuvale’ means family, and this membership is about bridging the ocean and bringing our New Zealand whānau right into the heart of the club.”
Members will receive a special membership pack that includes a Drua Matavuvale hat and a personalized recognition certificate, with their names displayed on a dedicated page of the Drua website. Furthermore, a private WhatsApp group exclusive to the inaugural members will offer unique content and direct interaction with the Drua coaching staff.
The package also includes chances to meet Drua players and the extended community, along with access to special deals and discounts from the club’s sponsors. Members will additionally receive a promo code for purchasing home game tickets in Fiji for their family and friends, subject to availability.
To honor these inaugural members, a permanent Drua Matavuvale Wall of Fame will be established at the Drua Base in Nadi, recognizing the first supporters from New Zealand to participate in this initiative. Additionally, one lucky member will be selected for an Ultimate Drua Member Experience, featuring return flights for two to Fiji with Fiji Airways, accommodations at Tanoa Hotels, and a behind-the-scenes match day experience during the Drua’s game against the Highlanders on May 2.
In preparation for their upcoming season, the Drua will also partake in a second pre-season match against the Skipper Select side on the 6th of next month at Churchill Park in Lautoka, promising an exciting year ahead for fans and the team alike.
