Swire Shipping Fijian Drua head coach Glen Jackson is gearing up for a challenging yet exciting season as he prepares to finalize his starting 15 for each match. The introduction of new players, such as Wallaby halfback Issak Fines-Leleiwasa and former Melbourne Rebels forward Angelo Smith, has intensified the competition for spots within the squad.

Jackson remains optimistic about the potential of his team this season and has highlighted the impressive talent emerging from the development squad. He expressed enthusiasm about the myriad of players available for selection, stating, “We have a wide range of players to pick from and competition for all positions has been very tough, especially with our first game just around the corner. We also have a bunch of talented players in our development squad, and I am excited to see what the future holds for them as well.”

The Drua are poised to begin their pre-season with a match against the Skipper XV, composed of players from last year’s Skipper Cup competition, on February 6th. Following this match, they will face Moana Pasifika in Lautoka on February 14th. The growing excitement regarding the team’s preparations and the depth of talent available suggests a bright and promising season ahead for the Drua, providing hope for both players and fans alike.
