Fiji’s tourism industry has celebrated a significant milestone with the grand opening of the Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort and Spa. This extensive redevelopment project was inaugurated by Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources, Filimoni Vosarogo. The resort has undergone a complete transformation from its previous identity, now boasting over 300 premium rooms and family suites, a modern spa, seven dining options, and a large 600-seat convention center designed to attract international business events. Last year, tourism contributed approximately $2.57 billion to the economy, supporting around 119,000 jobs. Nearly one million visitors traveled to Fiji, with 79% visiting for vacation purposes.
The Acting Prime Minister underscored the importance of the Crowne Plaza in Fiji’s economic growth, noting that it has already created numerous construction jobs and is expected to generate future employment for locals as operations expand.
