The ongoing dry spell has caused unreliable water access, raising significant concerns over public health and hygiene among the community.
Marisiale Tale, a local resident, has underscored the gravity of the situation, emphasizing that it is not just an inconvenience but a considerable threat to family well-being as they struggle to meet basic hygiene and cooking requirements. Despite numerous complaints to authorities and cries for assistance, residents feel overlooked, having encountered repeated unfulfilled promises, including the delivery of additional water trucks that have yet to arrive.
“Families in high-elevation areas have been left completely abandoned,” Tale lamented. He criticized the reliance on water carting as a costly temporary fix that fails to address the long-standing issues of infrastructure. Residents are urgently calling for immediate governmental intervention and substantial investments in permanent water supply solutions. “We pay for a reliable service, and we demand one,” he insisted, urging government officials to visit the affected communities directly to discuss feasible solutions together.
