The Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation has announced that the Third Fiji Tourism Convention (FTC) is set to take place on January 22 and 23, 2026, at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa in Nadi. This significant national forum aims to draw together leaders from the tourism sector, including government officials, industry stakeholders, and community representatives, to collaboratively shape the future of Fiji’s visitor economy.
This year’s theme, “Tourism Beyond Boundaries,” emphasizes the sector’s commitment to enhancing resilience, promoting inclusivity, and fostering sustainable development in the industry. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Viliame Gavoka, highlighted that the theme encapsulates a renewed vision for Fiji’s tourism landscape. He noted, “Tourism beyond boundaries is about pushing past conventional limits—bringing communities to the center, enhancing partnerships, and exploring new ways of delivering value for every Fijian and every visitor. Tourism is woven into our land, oceans, cultures, livelihoods, and the aspirations of our people.”
Building on the successes of previous conventions, the upcoming gathering will expand discussions to foster cross-sector collaboration, community engagement, and long-term resilience. According to Tourism Fiji CEO, Dr. Paresh Pant, the Convention serves as an essential platform for aligning national tourism priorities and reinforcing Fiji’s standing in a competitive global market. He stated, “This Convention helps us understand emerging needs, hear directly from our industry and communities, and refine how we promote and market Fiji. When our foundations at home are stronger, our marketing can go further.”
During the two-day convention, participants will engage in keynote presentations, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, all aimed at building on the resolutions established in the last Convention, as Fiji continues to navigate the next phase of its tourism growth. With a focus on resilience and inclusivity, the FTC promises to be a pivotal event for the future of tourism in Fiji, offering hope for a thriving economy that benefits both visitors and local communities alike.
