Team Fiji has proudly announced its lineup for the upcoming Oceania Regional Powerlifting Championship 2025, scheduled to be held in Christchurch, New Zealand, from November 17 to 21. This year’s team features an exciting mix of experienced athletes and promising newcomers, all motivated to represent Fiji with distinction on this prestigious regional platform.
At the forefront of the women’s team is Susana Qionibaravi, competing in the +84kg open weight class. The men’s side boasts several strong contenders, including Abishay Sharma in the -66kg junior category and Shifran Ali in the -66kg open class. Vinesh Chand is set to compete in the -74kg open category, while Daniel Patel and Nathan Chan will take on challenges in the -83kg open division.
Highlighting Fiji’s burgeoning talent, young lifters Rohaan Patel and Vivaan Patel will showcase their skills in the -93kg and -105kg sub-junior categories, respectively. They are joined by seasoned competitors Muzammil Ali in the -93kg open class and Francis Koroi in the -105kg open class. The team is further strengthened by Aiyaz Ali, who will compete in the +120kg men’s junior weight class.
