Fiji Unveils Powerlifting Lineup for Oceania Championship in Christchurch, New Zealand

Team Fiji has officially revealed its lineup for the prestigious Oceania Regional Powerlifting Championship 2025, set to take place in Christchurch, New Zealand, from November 17 to 21. This year’s team showcases a dynamic blend of seasoned athletes and promising newcomers, all eager to represent Fiji with pride on the regional stage.

Leading the women’s contingent is Susana Qionibaravi, who will compete in the +84kg open weight class. The men’s side features several strong competitors, including Abishay Sharma in the -66kg junior class and Shifran Ali in the -66kg open class. Additionally, Vinesh Chand will compete in the -74kg open class, while Daniel Patel and Nathan Chan will both take on the challenge in the -83kg open division.

Bringing to light Fiji’s emerging talent, young lifters Rohaan Patel and Vivaan Patel will compete in the -93kg and -105kg sub-junior categories, respectively. They are joined by experienced lifters Muzammil Ali in the -93kg open class and Francis Koroi in the -105kg open class. The team is rounded out by Aiyaz Ali, who will compete in the +120kg men’s junior weight class.

Powerlifting Fiji has congratulated all selected athletes, encouraging them to perform with strength and determination.
