Cabinet has formally approved Fiji’s National Cybersecurity and Resilience Strategy for the period 2026–2031, along with a comprehensive supporting Action Plan. This strategic initiative is designed to foster communities and businesses that are both cyber-aware and digitally secure.
At its core, the Strategy targets the enhancement of capabilities to respond to cyber incidents and cybercrime, while also ensuring the protection of government systems, critical infrastructure, and valuable data and assets. A pivotal aspect of this initiative is the development of a skilled and diverse cybersecurity workforce, aimed at bolstering cybersecurity leadership and promoting international collaboration.
The accompanying Action Plan outlines a systematic and results-oriented approach to effectively implement the Strategy, incorporating ongoing collaboration with stakeholders, as well as regular monitoring and evaluation of progress.
This endeavor underlines Fiji’s dedication to establishing a safe digital landscape and reinforcing the country’s national cyber infrastructure, which is crucial for the nation’s growth and security in an increasingly digital world. By prioritizing cybersecurity, Fiji not only enhances its own resilience but also aligns with global efforts to create safer online environments.
