The Embassy of the Republic of Fiji has issued a crucial update for Fijian citizens residing in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, as well as across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, regarding the resumption of scheduled flights.
The notice reveals that UAE authorities have successfully organized around 60 flights through Dubai International Airport, effectively transporting over 17,000 passengers to date. Looking forward, there are expectations for more than 80 additional scheduled flights, which are projected to accommodate approximately 27,000 more travelers.
Fijian nationals who have existing flight bookings have been advised that their respective airlines will contact confirmed passengers directly through the email or phone number submitted during booking. Those who do not receive official notifications from their airlines are strongly urged not to head to the airport.
The Embassy further highlighted that any inquiries related to travel confirmations, changes, or additional concerns should be directed straight to the airline. This will ensure that Fijian citizens receive accurate guidance as the situation evolves.
The Mission is devoted to closely monitoring developments and is committed to providing timely and reliable information to the Fijian community in the region. To stay informed on official announcements and safety advisories, Fijian nationals are encouraged to join the Embassy’s Consular WhatsApp group, which fosters community support and connection during these challenging times. This proactive step is aimed at keeping the community informed and supported as they navigate the ongoing changes in air travel.
