Fiji’s tourism industry is experiencing robust growth, with the latest data from the Fiji Bureau of Statistics reporting tourism earnings of $918.4 million for the September quarter of 2025. This impressive figure highlights the substantial spending by international visitors, which is calculated based on the average daily expenditure and the total number of visitor days.
Australia continues to be the leading source of tourism revenue for Fiji, contributing a significant $246.2 million, accounting for 47 percent of the total earnings. Following closely behind are New Zealand visitors, who injected $98.0 million into the economy, representing 26.8 percent of the total. Tourists from the United States also made a notable impact, spending $33.5 million or 10.7 percent, while visitors from Pacific Island nations contributed $4.1 million, amounting to 3.6 percent of tourism earnings.
The figures reflect a strong growth trajectory, with a quarter-over-quarter increase of 23.4 percent, which translates to an additional $174.2 million compared to the June 2025 quarter. This growth signals a positive outlook for the tourism sector as it heads into the final quarter of the year, traditionally one of the busiest periods for the industry.
Fiji’s tourism sector is integral to its economy, and these encouraging statistics underscore the resilience and continued appeal of the destination to travelers worldwide. The upward trend in earnings not only highlights the recovery and growth of the tourism sector but also provides optimism for further enhancement in the economic landscape of Fiji. The anticipation for increased visitor activity in the coming months adds a hopeful note for businesses and communities reliant on tourism.
