Fiji Tourism Convention Aims to Break Boundaries and Drive Growth

The Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation is set to host the Third Fiji Tourism Convention in Nadi next month, aiming to foster growth and innovation within the nation’s tourism sector. This year’s theme, “Tourism Beyond Boundaries,” encapsulates Fiji’s dedication to exploring new avenues for inclusive, resilient, and sustainable tourism practices.

Building on the achievements of previous conventions, this gathering will broaden its scope to emphasize cross-sector collaboration, community partnerships, and resilience. The aim is to position tourism as not merely an economic driver but as a transformative platform that transcends geographical, social, and economic barriers.

The third convention is expected to attract industry leaders, policymakers, and tourism professionals from across Fiji who will come together to explore the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities facing the sector. Dr. Paresh Pant, Chief Executive of Tourism Fiji, has highlighted the importance of this platform in aligning collective ambitions for the tourism industry.

According to Pant, the government’s ongoing investments in infrastructure, community development, and long-term resilience have enhanced Tourism Fiji’s ability to share its narrative with a global audience. He notes that the convention will serve as a crucial opportunity to understand emerging needs, gain insights from industry stakeholders and communities, and refine marketing strategies in a competitive international landscape.

The two-day event will include keynote speakers, panel discussions, and networking opportunities designed to facilitate knowledge sharing and develop strategies that leverage tourism as a catalyst for positive change and sustainable economic growth. Conversations will also revisit the resolutions made during the previous convention, ensuring continuity in efforts to advance Fiji’s tourism ambitions.

As the tourism industry continues to evolve, this convention represents a hopeful step towards fostering resilience and innovation that can drive sustainable development across the islands.
