Fiji Taekwondo Duo Set to Shine at Tunz Championship 2025 in New Zealand

Two dedicated taekwondo athletes from RT Xtreme Fiji, Master Pranit Kumar and his student Ali Abdullah, are set to represent their club at the prestigious Tunz Championship 2025, held in Wellington, New Zealand. This international invitational event provides them with a valuable platform to gain exposure and enhance their skills.

The duo will compete in individual sparring and poomse, allowing them to demonstrate their prowess in both controlled forms and direct combat. For Pranit Kumar, this championship serves as a test of the rigorous four months of training they have undergone, as they face a new and challenging level of competition.

The tournament holds significant importance for Ali Abdullah, marking his debut on the international stage. Despite it being his first-ever international tournament, he approaches the competition with confidence, supported by the guidance and mentorship of his master.

The event not only showcases the potential of these athletes but also reflects the growing enthusiasm for taekwondo in Fiji. With structured training camps and development programs led by experienced coaches like Pranit Kumar and visiting consultants such as Grand Master Andy Rutten, Fiji is progressively fostering a vibrant taekwondo culture. This initiative aligns with broader efforts to engage the youth in sport, developing both physical fitness and personal growth, which are crucial for nurturing future champions.

As the Tunz Championship kicks off, hope runs high for the Fijian athletes to make a lasting impression and set the stage for future participation in significant international competitions. Their journey represents a promising step forward for taekwondo in Fiji, inspiring a new generation of athletes.
