The Fiji Police Force has reported a significant decrease in illicit drug offenses, noting a 30% reduction from August to October compared to the same period last year. This notable decline is primarily attributed to Operation Sasamaki, an initiative launched in March that is currently active across all five police divisions in Fiji.
Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu pointed out that this reduction is the result of a focused crackdown on drug-related crimes, achieved through enhanced enforcement efforts and regular monthly assessments of the operation’s strategies.
