Kadavu Rugby coach Josevata Bola and Navosa Rugby coach David Dakuitoga are participating with the Shop N Save Fiji Warriors’ coaching staff as part of a new training initiative by the Fiji Rugby Union. This program, known as the Coach Development Pathway, aims to give local coaches greater exposure and experience at the international level, reinforcing the foundational growth of rugby in Fiji.
Fiji Warriors head coach Cohen Politini expressed gratitude, highlighting that the team is fortunate to have the expertise of the two coaches leading up to their match against the Australian Country team today at Prince Charles Park in Nadi. Politini noted, “We are blessed to have both the Vanua finalists, the Kadavu and Navosa coaches, here on attachment and observers. There has been lots of learning and interaction with them, and they also feel blessed to be part of this environment and experience coaching at a high-performance level.”
This initiative offers invaluable insights into high-performance preparations and practices, which will greatly benefit the coaches in nurturing talent within their respective provincial and grassroots rugby programs. In a recent Vodafone Vanua Cup final, Kadavu emerged victorious against Navosa with a score of 23-17, thereby securing a spot in the Skipper Cup for the next season.
