Fiji Expands Online Passport Appointments as Portal Reopens

Fiji reopens online passport portal with more appointment slots and longer Suva hours

Fiji’s Immigration Department has proudly announced the reopening of its online passport application portal after a hiatus of several months. Citizens can now apply for new passports or renew existing ones through the website: https://www.immigration.gov.fj/online-application/.

In a bid to improve service efficiency, the Ministry will increase daily appointment slots available on the Online Passport Application Portal starting December 1, 2025. This move is anticipated to make the process more accessible to applicants and significantly reduce waiting times, addressing the high demand that has been evident in recent months.

The Ministry has reiterated its “no walk-in” policy to streamline operations, although exceptions will be allowed in cases of genuine emergencies or exceptional circumstances. Additionally, during peak application periods, the Suva Immigration Office will extend its hours to operate from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM from December 1 to December 12, 2025. Other immigration offices will maintain their regular operating hours. Urgent processing requests can still be submitted through the online portal.

These updates demonstrate the Ministry’s commitment to minimizing delays and providing a more reliable, customer-focused passport service to all Fijians. This proactive approach not only seeks to enhance the overall application experience but also showcases the government’s dedication to effectively addressing the needs of its citizens.
