The Fiji Police Force has launched a dedicated 24-hour call centre at its headquarters as part of efforts aimed at enhancing public trust and confidence in law enforcement. Citizens can report crimes or share valuable information by calling the toll-free number 1681 or emailing fpf.callcentre@police.gov.fj.

Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu emphasized that the establishment of this call centre is intended to create a reliable channel for the public to voice concerns related to police services, report criminal activities, or offer tips. He encouraged community members to utilize this new platform.

“I urge members of the public to utilise the call centre and direct all issues regarding police service or police officers, reports of crime, or the sharing of information,” said Commissioner Tudravu. “The information will then be redirected to the respective Directors and Divisional Commanders for immediate action, with feedback provided as soon as practicable.”

This initiative aims to allow the police force to consolidate information through an official reporting route, enabling shift supervisors to manage immediate actions and improve their response times. Commissioner Tudravu acknowledged that slow response and lack of feedback have frequently been points of contention among the public, and this new system is designed to effectively address those concerns.

He further reiterated the importance of using the new platform, stating that reports lodged through official channels would receive thorough investigations and follow-ups, thereby fostering a more responsive police service that meets the needs of the community. This move signifies a positive step forward in strengthening community policing efforts and fostering a collaborative environment between the police and the public.
