Reddy Foundation Donates to Fiji Cancer Society During Pinktober Walk

Fiji Pinktober Drive Raises Funds for Cancer Awareness

The Reddy Foundation, part of the Reddy Group, has reaffirmed its dedication to cancer awareness by donating $10,000 to the Fiji Cancer Society during the Pinktober Walk held at My Suva Picnic Park on Wednesday. Since its inception in 2015, the foundation has formed a strong alliance with the Fiji Cancer Society, channeling its contributions through Tanoa Hotels, a prominent branch of the Reddy Group.

Narend Kumar, the area general manager for Tanoa Hotel Group in Fiji, spoke about the significance of grassroots efforts, stating, “At Tanoa, we believe that small actions can create big change.” He expressed optimism that their support would ease challenges for those fighting cancer and strengthen the care network within local communities.

Kamini Reddy, company director, emphasized that the foundation’s initiatives continue the legacy of her late father, Yanktesh Permal Reddy, focused on community empowerment. She stated that this year’s theme reflects their ongoing commitment to transforming awareness into meaningful actions that positively impact the lives of individuals affected by cancer.

The Pinktober Walk drew participation from hotel staff, community members, and advocates, all united in raising awareness and standing in solidarity with cancer survivors. This event mirrors broader local efforts that highlight community engagement, with various organizations demonstrating their commitment to aiding the Fiji Cancer Society in the fight against cancer through collective initiatives.

Other local businesses, such as Telecom Fiji and Decked Out Fiji Group, have also stepped up their support for the Fiji Cancer Society. Telecom Fiji donated $15,000 during a Pinktober morning tea event, while Decked Out Fiji marked its third consecutive year of support with a contribution of $11,362.32.

These collaborative efforts not only provide essential funding but also heighten awareness about cancer, exemplifying the power of community unity in supporting those affected by this widespread illness. Initiatives like Pinktober are helping to create a hopeful vision of solidarity, compassion, and collective action in the battle against cancer, ultimately fostering positive change within the community.
