Netball Fiji has announced an extended squad camp for the Fiji Pearls scheduled for this Saturday, with 58 athletes expected to attend. This one-day event will bring together players and coaching staff from both the Fiji Pearls and the national men’s netball team, focusing on enhancing skills and conditioning in preparation for a busy year ahead.

The Fiji Pearls are gearing up for a series of competitions, including one domestic event and three international tournaments planned from July to October. This initiative is part of Netball Fiji’s commitment to competing at higher levels and improving their world ranking. Unfortunately, the current ranking has hindered their qualification for this year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, as they were unable to finish in the top 12.

In a recent statement, Netball Fiji emphasized the significance of this meeting as a chance to determine their strategic direction for the upcoming year. “Bringing our national teams together ahead of key fixtures in 2026 reflects our commitment to performance, collaboration, and excellence in our high-performance space,” they noted. “We are confident this camp will set the tone for a successful year for both teams.”

The camp will be held at the Vodafone Arena in Suva, starting at 9 am, with players advised to arrive by 8 am. The extensive roster of attendees includes notable players such as Adi Lebha Cocker, Alisi Naqiri, and Rhys Harmony Williams, signifying strong representation from various talent across the nation.

Overall, the upcoming camp symbolizes a hopeful and strategic move towards enhancing the performance of Fiji’s netball teams on both local and international platforms. With a focused approach and strong collaborative efforts, Netball Fiji is poised for a promising year ahead.
