Fiji Opens 2026 Back-to-School Support Scheme for Disadvantaged Students

Fiji Opens 2026 Back-to-School Aid Applications

The Foundation for the Education of Needy Children in Fiji (FENC Fiji) has announced the commencement of applications for its 2026 Child Education Support Scheme. This initiative is designed to offer essential back-to-school aid to underprivileged children across Fiji, in line with FENC Fiji’s longstanding goal of alleviating poverty through education. Since its founding in 2009, the foundation has successfully helped over 39,000 children by providing them with essential educational tools for academic success.

In this year’s scheme, students from early childhood through Year 13 will receive necessary school supplies, including bags, books, and stationery, to equip them for the new school year. This is especially significant amid rising financial pressures experienced by many families due to broader economic challenges.

Applications for this support can be submitted via several platforms, such as the FENC Fiji website, Facebook page, Selfless Fiji, and the Ministry of Rural and Disaster Management offices. Hard copies are also available in local communities. The deadline for submissions, complete with all required documentation, is November 8, 2025. FENC Fiji stresses the importance of timely submissions to ensure efficient procurement and distribution of the educational materials.

Applications can be submitted in person at the FENC Fiji office in Samabula, through district offices, or by mailing them to P.O. Box 2201, Government Buildings, Suva. The foundation highlights the critical nature of this initiative, aiming to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder any child’s educational journey.

FENC Fiji’s efforts are bolstered by the Fijian government’s Back-to-School Support program, which also assists low-income families. Now in its third year, the government’s program demonstrates a broader commitment to eliminating financial obstacles to education and increasing learning opportunities for children. These collective efforts underscore a shared mission to support the educational dreams of Fiji’s youth, setting them on a promising path to a brighter future.
