Fiji’s President, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, has officially appointed His Excellency Kemueli Naiqama as the nation’s new Ambassador to Japan during a formal ceremony at State House. This noteworthy event included Ambassador-designate Naiqama taking the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath for the Due Execution of Office, in accordance with the constitutional requirements.

The ceremony was graced by several important figures, including the Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Ro Filipe Tuisawau, who also manages the Public Works, Meteorological Services, and Transport portfolios. Notably present were the Acting Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Lesi Korovavala, senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and members of Ambassador Naiqama’s family.

Ambassador Naiqama’s appointment sets the stage for a critical diplomatic mission in Japan, aimed at reinforcing the relations between the two countries.
