Government Member of Parliament Professor Biman Prasad is scheduled to present his plea on December 8 regarding charges related to statutory disclosure requirements. He appeared in the Suva Magistrate Court this morning before Magistrate Yogesh Prasad, facing serious allegations including failing to declare his directorship in Platinum Hotels and Resorts Pte Limited, a requirement under the Political Parties (Registration, Conduct, Funding and Disclosures) Act 2013.
The charges assert that on or around December 30, 2015, Prasad, as an office holder of the National Federation Party, failed to comply with mandatory asset and income disclosure laws, leading to accusations of providing false information in a statutory declaration.
