Speaking during a parliamentary session, Tuisawau expressed concern that certain MPs are exploiting committee outreach efforts to gather support and spread political narratives rather than collect genuine feedback. He cited examples of MPs exaggerating infrastructure issues, such as widespread pothole problems on roads, which he argued were distortions of reality.
Tuisawau pointed out that opposition MPs often rely on hearsay to discuss national issues, suggesting that these claims might be attempts to campaign under the guise of committee work rather than present factual accounts. He cautioned against using committee visits to create false growth narratives and warned against spreading unfounded rumors.
The Minister underscored the achievements of the current government in addressing long-standing problems, noting that the administration has made significant progress over the past three years. He reminded the parliament that many issues have existed for over 16 years, well before the current government took office.
