Fiji Military Forces Enter Final Phase for Sukuna Bowl Boxing Showdown

The Republic of Fiji Military Forces boxing team is intensifying their training as they prepare for the upcoming Vodafone Sukuna Bowl, with head coach Alfred Ledua announcing that the team has reached the final phase of their training. Ledua emphasized a structured approach, highlighting that they have methodically progressed through three phases to ensure that the athletes are in optimal condition for their annual competition against the Fiji Police Force.

“We are now onto our third phase of preparation,” Ledua stated. “Having completed the first two phases, our focus is now on fine-tuning our readiness for this year’s Sukuna Bowl.” The Military Forces previously claimed the overall boxing title in 2023 but lost it to the Police last year, a defeat they are determined to reverse in the upcoming contest.

Recognizing the strength of the Police team, Ledua remarked, “We know they are not an easy opponent, and this year we’re coming with everything to try and reclaim the title.” The importance of the anticipation surrounding the Sukuna Bowl is not limited to boxing; the event will feature a variety of sports, including soccer, netball, volleyball, rugby league, and rugby sevens, among others.

Scheduled to commence on November 8th, the 2024 Sukuna Bowl promises to be an exciting display of athleticism and rivalry between the forces, fostering teamwork and camaraderie among participants and supporters alike. As the event draws near, the spirit of competition inspires both teams, highlighting the dedication and talent present within Fiji’s sporting community.
