The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is alerting the public to be vigilant and to promptly report any individuals impersonating LTA officials who attempt to solicit money for services or favors. This warning comes in response to a social media post by a woman who claimed she was approached by someone posing as an LTA officer, who offered to arrange a permit and driver’s license in exchange for payment.

LTA Chief Executive Officer Irimaia Rokosawa emphasizes that the Authority takes such incidents very seriously. He reiterated that all services provided by the LTA should only be accessed through official channels. Payments and transactions are to be conducted strictly through approved LTA systems, as any dealings outside of LTA offices are considered illegal. Rokosawa also alerted the public that the LTA will not be held responsible for any losses stemming from unauthorized transactions.

Rokosawa urged anyone who encounters these impostors to report the incident to the Fiji Police Force Cyber Crime Unit immediately. To help combat these fraudulent activities, he advised the public to verify information by either visiting their local LTA office or utilizing official LTA communication platforms.

The LTA is working in collaboration with relevant authorities to uphold the integrity of its services and to safeguard citizens from becoming victims of fraud and deception.
