A new Military Chef’s Course was inaugurated on Tuesday at the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Joint Task Force Command headquarters at Blackrock Camp in Nadi, marking a significant step forward in regional defense cooperation. The training program will take place from February 3 to March 6, 2026, and is supported by the British High Commission in Fiji, with instruction delivered by professionals from both the British Armed Forces and the New Zealand Defence Force.
This initiative highlights the strong defense relationships Fiji fosters with both the United Kingdom and New Zealand. The course has garnered interest from 25 participants across various RFMF units, aiming to improve culinary skills within the military—a critical aspect of troop welfare and overall operational effectiveness.
During the opening ceremony, Deputy Joint Task Force Command Saula Tuilevuka encouraged attendees to take full advantage of this valuable opportunity. He also stressed the importance of applying their new skills effectively within their military roles. Tuilevuka expressed appreciation to the British High Commission and defense partners for their continued support, which aims to enhance the capabilities of the RFMF and emphasizes the military’s commitment to further collaboration and future initiatives.
This program represents a constructive advancement toward cultivating a skilled and well-prepared military force, ensuring personnel are equipped to tackle an array of challenges they may encounter in their service.
