Fiji and Japan have enhanced their partnership by signing a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) aimed at the Technical Intern Training Program, a significant agreement that emerged during the official visit of Fiji’s Prime Minister to Japan. The primary goal of this MoC is to boost employment opportunities for Fijians within Japan’s sophisticated economy.
The agreement was formalized by Jone Maritino Nemani, the Permanent Secretary for Employment, Productivity, and Workplace Relations of Fiji, along with Hideharu Maruyama, the Commissioner of the Immigration Services Agency of Japan. This collaboration signifies a strategic effort to transfer vital technical skills and knowledge, which is crucial for developing Fiji’s workforce.
This initiative looks to alleviate labor shortages in various sectors in Japan by enabling the exchange of skills and techniques.
