Fiji IDC 2025 Shake-Up: Nadogo Suspended, Bua Takes Senior Division Spot

In a late shift for the 2025 FMF Inter-District Championship’s Senior Division, the Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) has opted to include Bua FC in place of Nadogo FC. This decision came after it was revealed that Nadogo Football Association provided false information concerning their required Regional Club League, leading Fiji FA to disqualify them from the tournament.

In response to this breach, Nadogo FA president Mohammed Yunus has been suspended indefinitely while a thorough investigation unfolds. Initially, Bua FC had secured a spot in the Premier Division, but a recent compliance review highlighted their failure to fulfill the entire Regional League’s demands, noting their competition was only conducted during the year’s first quarter. Consequently, they will now participate in the Senior Division.

The FMF IDC 2025 will take place at 4R Stadium and Govind Park in Ba from October 7 to 12. This isn’t the first time disciplinary actions or last-minute changes have rocked Fiji’s football scene. Similar issues had occurred previously, where compliance failures led to point deductions for several districts. In some instances, Bua FC has been at the center of controversies, including those involving player eligibility and positive drug tests.

Showing resolve to uphold the integrity of its competitions, the Fiji FA has consistently emphasized the need for adherence to league requirements and transparency among its districts. The association’s swift reaction underscores its commitment to maintaining fairness and integrity within Fijian football, looking to foster a competitive yet principled sporting environment.
