The Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) has officially announced that Bua FC will take the place of Nadogo FC in the Senior Division for the upcoming FMF Inter-District Championship (IDC) 2025, which is set to run from October 7 to 12 at 4R Stadium and Govind Park in Ba. This decision follows the revelation that Nadogo FC provided false information to the association regarding the organization of its Regional Club League, as the district had claimed a competition took place when in fact it did not.
In light of these findings, Fiji FA has suspended Nadogo Football Association president Mohammed Yunus indefinitely for misleading the governing body. Further investigations are expected to take place to examine the extent of the misinformation.
Bua FC, which originally secured a spot in the Premier Division through its Extra Senior League ranking, will now compete in the Senior Division due to compliance issues. Reports indicate that while Bua managed to conduct its Regional League competition, it only occurred during the first quarter of the year, thus falling short of full compliance with the regulations.
The FMF IDC 2025 will see a rich lineup of teams in the Senior Division, with the confirmed groups now in place. Group A will include Lami, Taveuni, and Bua, while Group B will feature Rakiraki, Savusavu, and Dreketi. The anticipation surrounding this event is high, especially among teams eager to showcase their talents and compete for victory.
This adjustment in the participating teams highlights the ongoing efforts by the Fiji FA to ensure adherence to regulations and promote transparency in the organizational processes of regional competitions. With the upcoming IDC, football enthusiasts are hopeful for a competitive tournament that showcases the best of Fiji’s football talents.
