The Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) has officially confirmed that Bua FC will replace Nadogo FC in the Senior Division for the upcoming FMF Inter-District Championship (IDC) 2025, scheduled to take place from October 7 to 12 at the 4R Stadium and Govind Park in Ba. This change follows an investigation that revealed Nadogo FC submitted false information regarding the establishment of its Regional Club League, claiming that a competition had occurred when it had not.
As a result of these revelations, Fiji FA has decided to suspend Nadogo Football Association president Mohammed Yunus indefinitely for misleading the governing body. Further investigations are planned to uncover the full extent of the misinformation.
Bua FC, which initially secured its position in the Premier Division through its performance in the Extra Senior League, will now compete in the Senior Division due to compliance concerns. Although Bua FC was able to conduct its Regional League competition early in the year, it did not meet all regulatory requirements.
The upcoming FMF IDC 2025 promises an exciting lineup of teams within the Senior Division. Group A includes Lami, Taveuni, and Bua, while Group B comprises Rakiraki, Savusavu, and Dreketi. The anticipation for the tournament is palpable, with teams eager to display their skills and compete for glory.
This recent development underscores the Fiji FA’s commitment to enforcing regulations and promoting transparency in the organization of regional competitions. As the IDC approaches, football fans remain hopeful for an intense and competitive tournament that will spotlight the best talents Fiji has to offer.
