Fiji Hash Runners Head for Taiwan to Promote 2027 Pan Pacific Hash in Nadi

Fiji’s Hash runners are taking part in the Pan Asian Hash 2025 in Taiwan as part of a broader initiative to promote the upcoming Pan Pacific Hash 2027, which will be held in Nadi, Fiji. A team of 15 avid Hash House Harriers has set off for Taiwan, where they will join more than 1,600 other runners from November 21 to 23. Their mission goes beyond just racing; they intend to use this opportunity to showcase Fiji’s unique qualities and generate excitement for the 2027 event.

Dr. Ram Raju, the Events Director for the Pan Pacific Hash, highlighted that this trip serves as a significant platform for Fiji to display its warm hospitality, breathtaking landscapes, and diverse terrain for running. He envisions that hosting the 2027 Hash will further strengthen Fiji’s sports tourism strategy and cement Nadi’s reputation as a central hub for major sports events.

The inaugural Pan Pacific Hash is slated for September 16 to 18, 2027, aiming to attract at least 1,600 international participants, mirroring the participation seen in Taiwan. This event promises not only a fun and competitive atmosphere but also an authentic experience infused with Fiji’s renowned culture and scenic beauty.

Tourism Fiji has extended its support through promotional materials, ensuring that the team will effectively communicate what makes Fiji an attractive destination for such gatherings. The Hash House Harriers feel a strong sense of unity as they represent their home country in Taiwan, promoting what is considered the largest fun run in the Pacific.

Overall, this initiative not only positions Fiji as a vital player in international sports tourism but also fosters community spirit and engagement, showcasing the island nation’s readiness to host global events. The anticipation building for both the Pan Asian Hash and the Pan Pacific Hash underscores a positive outlook for Fiji as it continues to welcome diverse cultures and experiences, paving the way to an exciting future for sports tourism in the region.
