The Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation is gearing up to host the Third Fiji Tourism Convention in Nadi next month, with the goal of promoting growth and innovation within the country’s tourism sector. This year’s theme, “Tourism Beyond Boundaries,” reflects Fiji’s commitment to discovering new paths for inclusive, resilient, and sustainable tourism practices.
Building on the successes of past conventions, this year’s gathering promises to expand its focus by highlighting cross-sector collaboration, community partnerships, and resilience. The initiative aims to position tourism not only as a vital economic driver but also as a transformative platform that overcomes geographical, social, and economic barriers.
The convention is anticipated to draw industry leaders, policymakers, and tourism professionals from all over Fiji, creating a forum to discuss the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities within the sector. Dr. Paresh Pant, Chief Executive of Tourism Fiji, emphasized the significance of this event in uniting collective aspirations for the tourism industry. He remarked that the government’s continued investments in infrastructure and community development have fortified Tourism Fiji’s capacity to share its story with a global audience.
According to Pant, the convention will serve as a pivotal opportunity to understand emerging needs, gather insights from industry stakeholders and local communities, and enhance marketing strategies to remain competitive in the global tourism landscape.
Spread over two days, the event will feature keynote speakers, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, all aimed at fostering knowledge exchange and developing actionable strategies that leverage tourism as a catalyst for positive change and sustainable economic development. Additionally, there will be discussions revisiting the resolutions from previous conventions to ensure a continuous effort toward advancing Fiji’s tourism goals.
As the tourism industry adapts to new dynamics, this convention represents a promising step towards nurturing resilience and innovation, ultimately contributing to sustainable development throughout the islands.
