Sixteen evacuation centers have been established throughout the Western Division, currently providing shelter for 438 evacuees from 87 households as communities grapple with the impact of ongoing flooding. Authorities have activated these centers as a proactive measure in response to persistent heavy rainfall and increasing water levels in several regions.

The complete list of Evacuation Centers is available on the National Disaster Management Office’s official website at www.ndmo.gov.fj. Additionally, members of the public can scan the official QR code provided by authorities to access the latest updates.

In light of the adverse weather conditions, all schools in the Western Division are closed, given the continuous heavy rain and hazardous road conditions. Conversely, educational institutions in the Central, Eastern, and Northern Divisions have resumed classes, providing some continuity for students in those areas.

Officials urge the public to remain vigilant and prioritize safety, reminding them to stay informed through official government communication channels. Authorities are closely monitoring the ongoing situation and advising residents, especially those in low-lying and flood-prone regions, to take appropriate safety measures.
