The Embassy of the Republic of Fiji has provided an important update for Fijian citizens living in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and the broader Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region regarding the resumption of scheduled flights.

According to the notice, UAE authorities have successfully facilitated around 60 flights via Dubai International Airport, resulting in the transportation of over 17,000 passengers thus far. Looking ahead, more than 80 additional scheduled flights are anticipated, with projections to accommodate approximately 27,000 more travelers.

The Embassy has instructed Fijian nationals with existing flight bookings that airlines will reach out to confirmed passengers directly using the email or phone number provided at the time of booking. Only those who receive official notifications from their airlines should consider proceeding to the airport. Passengers who do not receive communication are strongly advised against traveling to the airport.

Furthermore, the Embassy emphasized that all inquiries concerning travel confirmations, changes, and other relevant matters should be directed to the respective airlines, ensuring that Fijian citizens are guided accurately as the situation develops.

In addition to these measures, the Mission is dedicated to closely monitoring ongoing developments and remains committed to providing timely and reliable information to Fijians in the region. To keep updated on official announcements and safety advisories, Fijian nationals are encouraged to join the Embassy’s Consular WhatsApp group, fostering a connection that enhances community support during these dynamic times.
