The Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) has announced a notable change in the lineup for the 2025 FMF Inter-District Championship (IDC), scheduled from October 7th to 12th at 4R Stadium and Govind Park in Ba. Bua FC will replace Nadogo FC in the Senior Division, following Nadogo’s disqualification due to misreported activities. An investigation revealed that Nadogo had falsified information regarding their Regional Club League operations, prompting their exclusion from the championship.
As a result, the Fiji FA has indefinitely suspended Nadogo FA President Mohammed Yunus for providing false information to the governing body. A comprehensive investigation is set to ensure all league regulations are upheld and adhered to in the future.
Bua FC, initially qualified for the Premier Division, finds itself in the Senior Division due to previously incomplete league matches. Despite this setback, they will now compete in Group A of the Senior Division alongside Lami and Taveuni, while Group B consists of Rakiraki, Savusavu, and Dreketi.
This reshuffle is part of broader disciplinary measures by the Fiji FA against various districts, including Bua, for failing to adhere to regional competition guidelines. Earlier this year, certain districts, including Bua and Nadogo, faced point deductions in the national league due to similar compliance issues.
The changes underscore the Fiji FA’s dedication to ensuring competition integrity and transparency. The upcoming championship draws attention to whether Bua FC can seize this renewed opportunity despite recent challenges. The Fiji FA remains steadfast in emphasizing that districts must strictly follow regulations to maintain fairness and integrity in its competitions.
