Fiji IDC 2025 Shake-Up: Nadogo Suspended, Bua Takes Senior Division Spot

Fiji FA Replaces Nadogo with Bua for IDC 2025 After Compliance Breach

In a surprising turn of events for the 2025 FMF Inter-District Championship’s Senior Division, the Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) has announced a shift in the lineup, replacing Nadogo FC with Bua FC. This decision follows the discovery that Nadogo Football Association provided inaccurate information regarding their compliance with the required Regional Club League, resulting in their disqualification from the competition.

In light of this, Mohammed Yunus, president of Nadogo FA, has been suspended indefinitely as an investigation into the breach is conducted. This measure reflects the seriousness with which the Fiji FA views the integrity of its competitions. Initially, Bua FC had qualified for a spot in the Premier Division. However, a review revealed that Bua FC only met the league requirements during the first quarter of the year, prompting their reassignment to the Senior Division.

The FMF IDC 2025 is slated to occur from October 7 to 12 at 4R Stadium and Govind Park in Ba. This incident is not an isolated case in Fiji’s football landscape, where similar compliance failures have previously resulted in point deductions for various districts. Bua FC itself has been embroiled in past controversies, including player eligibility issues and drug test failures.

The Fiji FA’s decisive action highlights its dedication to upholding the standards of competition both on and off the field. By enforcing rigorous compliance and transparency standards, the association aims to ensure a fair and principled sporting environment. Through these measures, the Fiji FA continues to encourage a culture of integrity within Fijian football, striving for a competitive and reputable sporting domain.
