Fiji Expands Online Passport Appointments as Portal Reopens

Fiji’s Immigration Department has officially reopened its online passport application portal after several months of being offline. Individuals looking to apply for new passports or renew existing ones can now do so via the website: https://www.immigration.gov.fj/online-application/.

Starting from December 1, 2025, the Ministry will increase the number of daily appointment slots available on the Online Passport Application Portal, which is expected to enhance accessibility for applicants and shorten waiting times. This enhancement comes in response to the high demand experienced in previous months.

While the Ministry has reaffirmed its “no walk-in” policy to streamline the application process, exceptions may be made for genuine emergencies or exceptional circumstances. To further manage peak periods, the Suva Immigration Office will extend its operating hours to 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM from December 1 to December 12, 2025. Other immigration offices will continue to operate under their regular schedules. It remains essential for applicants needing urgent processing to submit their requests through the online portal.

The Ministry emphasized that these updates reflect their commitment to minimizing delays and providing a more reliable, customer-centric passport service for all citizens of Fiji. This proactive approach not only aims to improve the application experience but also illustrates the government’s dedication to meeting the needs of its populace effectively.
