Public Works Minister Ro Filipe Tuisawau has raised alarms over a proposed electricity tariff increase expected to be announced today. According to reports, the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC) is preparing to disclose a significant 22 percent rise in tariffs, which the Minister has described as both premature and questionable.
Ro Filipe pointed out that negotiations with Energy Fiji Limited (EFL) are still in progress, urging that alternative solutions should be thoroughly examined to achieve comparable results without imposing higher tariffs on consumers.
