Two distinguished Fijian diplomats in Abu Dhabi have been honored with the Civil Service Medal in recognition of their exemplary service and leadership in advancing Fiji’s interests abroad. President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu presented the medals at a special ceremony on Monday, commending First Secretary Sanaila Laqai and Second Secretary Jaljeet Kumar for their unwavering commitment and professionalism.
During the event, which was attended by the First Lady, Emily Lalabalavu, as well as family members and embassy staff, President Lalabalavu expressed pride in the accomplishments of the recipients. Kumar, who brings nearly two decades of civil service experience, has played a key role in fostering Fiji’s diplomatic interests in South Korea, the United States, Canada, and Gulf nations. Recognized for his institutional knowledge and professionalism, he has served in several crucial roles, including postings in Seoul and Washington, before his current position in Abu Dhabi.
President Lalabalavu affirmed that these awards not only highlight the caliber of Fijians on the international stage but also reflect the integrity and commitment of those who serve their country.
