The Ministry of Justice has officially announced a significant leadership shift within the Fiji Corrections Service, appointing former Deputy Commissioner Auta Moceisuva as Acting Commissioner of Corrections, effective December 8, 2025. This announcement was made by Minister for Justice and Acting Attorney-General Siromi Turaga, who relayed that President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu had formalized the appointment.
Mr. Moceisuva, a seasoned corrections officer with extensive experience, takes on this pivotal role during a critical juncture for the organization. The Ministry emphasized that his promotion from Deputy Commissioner will ensure continuity and operational stability, enabling the continuation of key administrative and rehabilitation initiatives.
Additionally, the Ministry acknowledged the contributions of outgoing Commissioner Sevuloni Naucukidi, who is returning to his previous position. Naucukidi was commended for his leadership and dedication throughout his tenure.
