The Ministry for Women, Children and Social Protection has expressed strong condemnation regarding a violent incident captured in a recently circulated video on social media, which has led to the arrest of an individual by the Labasa Police.
Acting Minister for Women, Jese Saukuru, asserted that any form of violence is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. He underscored the significant physical and emotional toll such acts impose on victims, which can have enduring effects on families, communities, and especially on children.
Minister Saukuru commended the Fiji Police Force for their prompt and effective response to the situation, noting that the swift action taken by the Labasa Police illustrates a collective commitment to upholding law and order. He assured the public that perpetrators of violent acts will be held accountable for their actions.
