Fiji Commander Highlights UN Peacekeeping Role at UNDOF Ceremony

Major General Jone Kalouniwai, Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF), wrapped up a significant visit to the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) mission, paying homage to Fijian troops and those who lost their lives while serving in the pursuit of peace. The visit culminated on September 21, 2025, with a poignant wreath-laying ceremony. Major General Kalouniwai received a warm welcome with a 50-man guard of honor and participated in the traditional “Isa Lei” performed by the 1st Battalion Fiji Infantry Regiment.
