Team Fiji Para Table Tennis made a remarkable impact at the 2025 ITTF-Oceania Para Championships in New Zealand, capturing six medals and achieving third place in the team standings. The event, which included elite contenders from Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, and other Pacific nations, showcased Fiji’s exceptional skill, competitive spirit, and determination.
The Fijian athletes excelled across a variety of categories. Mere Rodan and Akanisi Latu stood out in the Women’s Doubles Sitting C3–5, as well as the Women’s Singles Sitting C3–5 events. Iakoba Taberanibou, affectionately known as Kope, bolstered the medal haul with a noteworthy performance in the Men’s Singles C4–5. Alongside Eparama Lagi, Kope further demonstrated his talents in the Men’s Doubles Sitting C4–5. Additionally, Rodan and Taberanibou teamed up efficiently in the Mixed Doubles Sitting event, while Jone Matanababa and his partner Jake achieved victory in the Men’s Doubles Standing.
