Team Fiji Para Table Tennis showcased an exceptional performance at the 2025 ITTF-Oceania Para Championships held in New Zealand, amassing six medals and securing third place in the team standings. The event featured formidable competitors from Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, and various other Pacific nations, providing a challenging environment that highlighted Fiji’s skill and determination.
The Fijian contingent delivered success across multiple categories. Mere Rodan and Akanisi Latu excelled in the Women’s Doubles Sitting C3–5 and the Women’s Singles Sitting C3–5 events. Iakoba Taberanibou, known as Kope, added to the medal tally with a strong showing in the Men’s Singles C4–5, and also partnered with Eparama Lagi in the Men’s Doubles Sitting C4–5. Further, Rodan and Taberanibou teamed up to achieve a medal in the Mixed Doubles Sitting event, while Jone Matanababa, along with partner Jake, triumphed in the Men’s Doubles Standing.
Fiji’s success at this championship contributes significantly to their recent sports endeavors, complementing their achievements at the 2025 Pacific Mini Games in Palau.
