The Fiji Meteorological Service has shared encouraging news for families across the country, predicting a delightful Christmas Day characterized by favorable weather. This sets the stage for outdoor celebrations and the cherished tradition of holiday cooking.

The weather outlook for Thursday suggests a generally calm atmosphere, with brief showers expected in certain areas. Regions such as Eastern Macuata, Cakaudrove, Southern Bua, Taveuni, and nearby smaller islands may see some cloudy spells accompanied by light rain, but these conditions are anticipated to have little effect on the jubilant Christmas festivities.

In central and southern areas including Serua–Namosi, Navua–Suva–Nausori, Tailevu–Naitasiri–Ra, and the islands of Kadavu, Lau, and the Lomaiviti groups, partly cloudy skies with occasional brief showers are forecasted. The Fiji Met service highlighted that these conditions are ideal for families to carry out their holiday traditions, particularly the preparation of traditional dishes like lovo and palusami. They emphasized the importance of planning ahead, suggesting that starting early is wise in case of a light festive shower later in the day.

Overall, the outlook for Christmas in Fiji is bright, allowing families to immerse themselves in joyful celebrations and cherished customs, ensuring that this holiday season is both memorable and filled with warmth.
