The Cabinet has approved a partial surrender of the Colo-i-Suva Forestry Reserve lease, enabling the Water Authority of Fiji to expand its infrastructure significantly. This important decision supports a major upgrade project along the Sawani to Colo-i-Suva corridor, aimed at increasing water supply capacity for the communities situated between Sawani and Tacirua.
To facilitate these improvements, the Water Authority plans to use a portion of land within the forest reserve, located next to its existing reservoir in Colo-i-Suva. This expansion is crucial for strengthening and enhancing the local water infrastructure, ensuring that residents benefit from a more reliable water supply.
This initiative marks a progressive step towards improving essential services in the region, signifying a dedication to community development and infrastructure enhancement. The anticipated upgrades are expected to bring beneficial changes and enhance the quality of life for residents in the affected areas, reflecting a hopeful future for the community.
