Fiji Bitter 7s Unveils Six-Tournament 2025-26 Tour Across Fiji

The Fiji Bitter 7s has been a significant platform for budding rugby talent for nearly fifty years, with the 2025–2026 series continuing this esteemed tradition. The series was officially launched, unveiling six major tournaments scheduled across Fiji, showcasing the commitment to nurturing the next generation of rugby players.

Lawrence Tikaram, Chairman of the Fiji Bitter 7s Series Organizing Committee, expressed that this competition is more than just an athletic event; it embodies Fijian rugby pride and cultural heritage. Tikaram emphasized the importance of this series in uniting communities, stating, “We’ve taken it from grassroots to the Olympics, which signifies our dedication to developing the finest rugby talent in Fiji.”

The series will commence with the Yalivata 7s tournament taking place on November 28–29, followed by the Wairiki 7s from December 11–13. It will then proceed to Labasa for the Service Rugby 7s scheduled for January 8–10, with further events in Savusavu from February 5–7, the Nawaka 7s on March 13–14, and culminating in the grand finale, the Marist 7s, from March 26–28.

Reflecting on the success of previous series, the Fiji Bitter 7s is anticipated to remain a vibrant fixture in Fiji’s sports calendar, uniting local teams and celebrating the rich rugby culture. By fostering grassroots rugby, this series not only highlights the importance of sportsmanship and competition but also nurtures community spirit and pride within Fijian society. The initiative ensures a bright future for Fijian rugby by laying a solid foundation for young players to excel.
