High Commissioner Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, leading a delegation from Wellington, conducted a courtesy visit to the Fiji Airways Auckland Office. There, they engaged with Alex Uren and his team, as well as representatives from Fiji’s Trade Team based in the city.
The discussions primarily focused on creating better coordination for official delegations, government officials, and Fijian nationals passing through Auckland. Key topics included improving operational communication to facilitate smooth passenger handling, provide timely support for travelers, and enhance coordination during busy travel seasons.
Additionally, the meeting addressed cargo movements that are essential for supporting the increasing trade between Fiji and New Zealand. The role of the airline in connecting Fiji’s exporters to global markets was also a significant point of conversation.
Moreover, the High Commission shared updates on the Government’s initiative to set up a Fiji Consulate in Auckland, which aims to strengthen consular services and enhance engagement with the Fijian community in northern New Zealand. The Fiji High Commission reiterated its dedication to working alongside Fiji Airways and the Auckland Trade Team to bolster connectivity, enhance travel facilitation, and strengthen the Fiji-New Zealand partnership.
With these efforts, there is optimism about improving not only travel experiences for individuals but also the economic ties that bind Fiji and New Zealand, contributing to a more interconnected future.
